Kate Walters is a consultant at GerrardBown. Prior to joining GerrardBown, Kate was Head of Urban Green Spaces policy for Her Majesties Government in England and was responsible for managing the Government’s policy to improve the quality of urban green spaces. The role’s main responsibility was to oversee progress against meeting parliamentary commitments and this involved policy development, managing stakeholders, and financial and project management of green spaces programs. Kate has contributed to developing and implementing a range of polices to create sustainable communities, including social policies to tackle disadvantage for communities marginalised by background or locale. Kate has broad experience in regeneration and has worked for a private sector housing regeneration investor in Private Public Partnerships PPP (and PFI) and in the not-for-profit sector on housing and renewal projects, which have included community consultation. Her project experience has helped to develop policy, deliver effective services and change in infrastructure, the public realm and housing, community renewal and social inclusion. Kate graduated with Honours from Bachelor of Arts at University of Birmingham. During her studies Kate spent over a year at the University of Toronto in Canada as part of a history and politics exchange program. Kate brings to the GerrardBown team skills in project management, stakeholder management, policy development and implementation as well as team and people management.
